MOBILE X-RAY SERVICE
If you are based in Sydney and require an X-Ray for your patient and they are frail or unable to travel, Sydney’s Mobile X-Ray Service is the ideal solution. Mobile X-Ray Service has a fleet of six vans that service all areas of metropolitan Sydney in the comfort of the patient’s home, Centre, or Aged Care facility.
Portable medical imaging services are in great demand with the advent of Covid-19 in an effort to reduce the spread of the virus and keep patients and facilities free of infection while providing a safe alternative with no travel or disruption required. Find out more about our Covid-safe practices.
Our efficient and portable X-ray equipment is mobile and non-invasive, creating diagnostic images in two standard sizes: 35cm x 43cm or 24cm x 30cm.
GPs and specialist doctors can request an X-ray for their patient by filling out our simple Online Referral Booking Form, email us, or phone us to make a booking.
Once we arrive at a patient’s house or Aged Care facility, we park our vehicle, quickly assemble our X-ray machine and wheel it into the home or facility. Aged Care facilities check us in, take our temperature, and we are requested to fill out the facility’s Covid-19 declaration before being escorted to see the patient. Nursing staff should be available to escort us to the patient and assist if required.
Once the X-ray image is taken, we bring the plates back to the van to process and the image is sent via our virtual private network to our office, arriving in less than 30 seconds!
Our Principal Radiologist, Frances Doull, receives and reports on the films that same day. Her results are uploaded by the next morning to our online PACS system, allowing Doctors and Aged Care facilities to login to access their patient’s results to view reports and films in less than 24 hours.
